General Statistical Software
There are many commercially available software packages which allow you to do a wide variety of statistical analysis. For a comprehensive list of both general and specialized statistical programs, see statistics.com.
Five general statistical packages are available at reduced cost with a Cornell site license: Minitab, SAS, SPSS, STATA, S-Plus.
These and other packages are also available at some of the university public computer labs. Their availability there varies and information can be found here.
Many people ask us which of these packages is the best, but there truly is no best package for everyone. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. Which one is right for you really depends on the analyses you want to do, as well as your statistical and programming background.
