Designing Experiments

Special Series of Workshops on the Design of Experiments

Offered by Dr. Freedom King

Dr. Freedom King from the department of Statistical Sciences who is also a statistical consultant for CSCU will present a series of workshops to assist you with the design of your experiments. The aim of this series of workshops is to introduce principles of sound statistical design and reasons for adhering to these principles using examples from various fields such as agriculture, health sciences, education, and psychology. The workshop will also present the critical pieces of information required for automating the designing of experiments. The SAS ADX interface with its user-friendly drop-down menu, will be presented during the hands-on part of the workshop. Corresponding JMP procedures will be also shown when available. Several different designs will be presented: a completely randomized design, a randomized complete block design, a full factorial and fractional factorial design as well as the response surface and split-plot designs. With this short introduction, we hope that interested researchers will be able to construct other designs as needed. Please note that during the workshop we will not be performing the data analysis corresponding to these different designs.
